History
Simon's began in 1905 when our grandfather's uncle opened a small cleaning and tailoring shop on
Beacon Hill in Boston. After World War I, grandpa Leo bought the business, providing custom tailoring
to the men of Boston. After our dad Harold got out of the service at the end of World War II, he
introduced ready-made clothing at our Copley Square location. The store is currently run by David
Simon, now the fourth generation to carry on the Simon's tradition of providing fine men's clothing to
the Boston area.
Our distinctive shop, the only Spanish mission style building in Boston, is located on Clarendon Street
just off Newbury Street, the most famous shopping area in town. We have been at this location since 1956.
At our store we are proud to offer great service, including quick, expert alterations for busy travelers, and also
ship anywhere in the world.
Tradition has it that many of the thousands of students who graduate from colleges in Boston buy their
first interview suits at Simon's and continue to call wherever they roam and shop on our website. If you're
one of our "Simon's Alumni" send us an email and tell us about it. We'd love to hear from you. If you're one
of the many veterans who actually worked here, therapy is available.
